1. A little birdie told us you aren’t originally from NY? Why did you make the move?

I’m originally from Venezuela and was raised in Miami, FL. Living in NYC has always been a dream and I finally saw the opportunity when I was accepted to The New School, so I decided to move here and make films.

2. You’ve been in the advertising business 10 years, why the move to film making?

I always knew I wanted to entertain people since I was a kid. I went to acting school and worked in a few plays in Miami. Then I realized I needed something secure to fall back on financially, so I decided to pursue a career in Graphic Design, which I enjoy very much, however, filmmaking has always been my passion.

3. What are your long term goals? Do you aspire to direct big box office movies, documentaries or continue to work on short films?

For most filmmakers, short films is a great way way to start your career and a great way to work your craft. As I continue to work on molding mine by making short films, I do look forward to direct feature films in the narrative genre, hopefully they hit the big box office! I personally love watching documentaries, but I have never explored that area as of yet, maybe one day I will have the opportunity to do it.

4. Can you give us a little insight into Deception? Seems like a dark film.

Deception is my directing debut. I personally enjoy writing stories that keeps the audience guessing and on the edge of their seat. I enjoyed making this short film and working with the actors, it was a great challenge to be able to compress such story into a 5 minute piece, and still keep you from the final twist. Watch Deception.

5. Advice for aspiring movie makers?

My humble advise to those of you thinking about becoming a filmmaker is WORK HARD, believe in yourself and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it or that you’re not good enough.

Suaz Note: I’ve had the honor of watching Mady present her work (RAW:NYC) and it’s easy to see her ambition and dedication to her craft. I wish Mady only the best, and hope to have seats to the screening of her first box office!
